Help Wanted...
One of our goals...New Year's Resolution if one must say, is to save some money. Now that we have two kiddos and my student loans will be coming into effect, Steve and I are trying to be a little more frugal. I've been (in the past) signed into several different websites, etc to teach me frugal ideas, couponing, etc. I never really got into it and now they are just SPAM to me. SOOOOO...I want to know what are the best ones. Any ideas you have found useful yourself? Ideas ideas ideas...please send me what you have done yourself with saving and being more frugal. Anything from your at home remedies for cleaning agents (those get expensive at the store, plus I just wonder what we ingest) to couponing tips, etc. Email me if you want (meganegeorge@yahoo.com). THANKS in advance...please help us reach our goal!

I have my laundry soap and dishwasher soap recipes on facebook (they are in notes on my page). I have made multipurpose cleaner by filling a mason jar with orange peels and white vinegar, soak for 2 weeks or so, then pour the liquid into a spray bottle. I have pinned a lot of ideas on my 'frugal' and 'home organization' boards on Pinterest. I haven't tried all of them, but hope to someday.
Cooking more from scratch. My freezer meals and crockpot meals are a lifesaver on those busy nights.
Gardening (even a little) helps as you can grow a lot of good food from some cheap seeds.
Watch your utilities. Shut off lights, water, turn down heat. Katie (at our class today) suggested calling your phone/internet/cable companies to negotiate your bill. Ask to speak to the retention department if you aren't getting answers from customer service. Tell them you are exploring your options as there are a lot of deals out there right now (find a couple specific deals in case you need them in the conversation) and you want to know what they can offer you to keep your business. She said it took her 15 minutes and she is saving 50% over the next few years.
Watch the store deals and pair them with coupons. Look into taking one of Katie's classes. (Iowa Couponing) She is fantastic. She knows her stuff and she is easy to talk to.
Don't get overwhelmed with all the ideas. Every little bit helps, add a little frugality at a time, so that you don't get burnt out or frustrated.
